I will be in Alaska through July 28, taking pictures so long as my camera is not at the bottom of the ocean. I've got images posted through that date, so you shouldn't notice a thing. I still appreciate the comments, and I'll read them when I get back!

Another cool shot. You're explanation from yesterday makes sense; I definitely see how it works brilliantly for some (like yesterday's with the deep, deep shadows) and not as well with others. But your right, today's image is worth having some noise in the sky because those twirling embers are what the eye focuses on. Thanks for the info...appreciate it!

@drphoto: Thanks. It's a long exposure- 5 seconds to be exact. The sparks turn into lines when you leave the shutter open. Leaned up against a pickup truck and hoped it turned out!
